On June 1 and 2, 2017, the Embassy of Mexico in the Philippines hosted “Mexico and the Philippines: Gateways to the Americas and ASEAN”, a seminar on Trade, Investment and Economy. Villaraza & Angangco’s Franchette M. Acosta and Leonardo A. Singson delivered a presentation on “How to Establish Business in the Philippines”, which included a discussion on potential business activities for investors, investment structures and vehicles, capital requirements, anti-trust, labor and immigration regulations. Other topics covered during the 2-day event included trade relations between Mexico and the Philippines, current business climate in the Philippines and Mexico and other developments in their respective economies.
