V&A Law hosts Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance, Inc. Annual Meeting and Networking Cocktails

On 27 February 2018, the Firm hosted the Annual General Membership Meeting and Board Meeting of the Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance, Inc. (“PE2”) at the Rainmakers Lounge of the V&A Law Center. 
 
PE2 is an Alliance of private and public-sector energy efficiency market stakeholder entities, which convened in order to organize, encourage, and promote advocacies, initiatives, studies, projects, programs, policy-directions, financing strategies, best ethical practices and sources in energy efficiency, energy conservation and renewable energy in order to assist the Philippines in achieving its long term targets of: (1) energy intensity reduction, (2) increasing energy productivity (3) greenhouse gas emission reduction, and (4) increasing energy security.
 
V&A Law is a strong advocate of energy efficiency and has been an active member of PE2 since 2016. V&A Law Junior Partner, Atty. Maria Concepcion P. Simundac was elected as trustee and Corporate Secretary of PE2 during the General Membership Meeting.
 
After the meetings, the Firm hosted networking cocktails for the members of PE2 and distinguished guests from PE2 partner organizations such as the Access to Sustainable Energy Programme, the Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation, and the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines.
 
The networking cocktails was headlined by guest of honor, Senator Sherwin T. Gatchalian, author of the Philippine Energy Efficiency and Conservation Bill which passed on third and final reading before the Senate on 05 February 2018. Senator Gatchalian led the guests and PE2 members in the launch of the alliance’s website.
