Villaraza & Angangco ("V&A Law") is pleased to announce the promotion of Atty. Ma. Carla P. Mapalo of the Firm's Corporate and Commercial Law Department to Partner, effective 01 July 2022.
Atty. Mapalo has more than seven years of experience in corporate and commercial law specializing in foreign investments, corporate restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions of companies engaged in various industries, such as telecommunications, real estate and construction, power and energy, banking and finance, mass media, and logistics. She also advises clients on antitrust issues and competition law concerns. Her notable works include handling the successful entry of the third major telecommunications provider in the Philippines, advising one of the leading real estate developers in Japan in its first development project in the Philippines, and successfully representing one of the largest conglomerates in the country before the Philippine Competition Commission in securing its approval of the acquisition of a participating interest in the service contract for the development of the biggest natural gas project in the Philippines. She recently earned her Master of Laws Degree (LL.M.) in Corporation Law from New York University School of Law as a Dean’s Graduate Awardee.
