As part of the V&A Law Lecture Series, Villaraza & Angangco hosted a forum on the Revised Corporation Code, the Ease of Doing Business Act ("EODB"), and the current policies of the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") and the Anti-Red Tape Authority ("ARTA") at the Rainmakers Lounge of the V&A Law Center last 18 October 2019. The forum was attended by general counsels from various leading companies across industries.

 

SEC Commissioner Kelvin Lester K. Lee ("Commissioner Lee") and ARTA Chief of Staff Atty. Ira Paulo Pozon ("Atty. Pozon"), respectively, shared invaluable information and insights on the new developments in Philippine Corporation Law and the improvements on doing business in the Philippines. Particularly, Commissioner Lee highlighted the innovations of the Revised Corporation Code and explained how the SEC will implement these, while Atty. Pozon guided the audience on the duties, powers, and jurisdiction of ARTA and how ARTA ensures that the anti-red tape measures under the EODB are implemented by government agencies.
