We are delighted to announce that V&A Law's Ma. Carla P. Mapalo has been recognized among Asia's leading young lawyers in the 2025 edition of Asian Legal Business' (ALB) Asia 40 Under 40.
Carla is a Partner of the Firm's Corporate and Commercial Law Department, specializing in M&A, Capital Markets, and Banking and Finance. She leads the Firm's Securities and Capital Markets and Natural Resources Practice Groups, while co-heading Banking and Finance.
Her work highlights include advising China Telecom on its USD 5.4 billion investment in the consortium that became the Philippines' third major telecommunications provider and handling the post-compliance work for the related USD 3.8 billion project financing, representing Mitsubishi Estate in a joint venture for a 74-hectare commercial hub, and advising on a USD 565 million acquisition of a participating interest in the country's largest natural gas project. More recently, she led the team that successfully secured clearance from the Philippine Competition Commission for Deutsche Bahn's landmark EUR 14.3 billion global sale of DB Schenker to DSV.
