Atty. Antonio Miguel C. Lu is a Partner of the Firm with over seven (7) years of experience in intellectual property. His practice focuses on high-profile patent and trademark litigation, having represented before the trial and appellate courts, as well as the Bureau of Legal Affairs (BLA) of the Philippine Intellectual Property Office, the Firm’s biggest intellectual property clients such as Getz Pharma (Philippines), Inc., Innogen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Petron Corporation, and ABS-CBN Corporation. In particular, as part of Petron’s brand protection program, Anton successfully secured from the trial court the conviction of one of the foremost violators of Petron’s intellectual property rights related to its Liquefied Petroleum Gas trade. With his experience in intellectual property litigation, he was instrumental in obtaining favourable decisions from the IPO-BLA concerning two patent cancellation cases against Astrazeneca AB’s S-Omeprazole and its new compounds, which are medicines known for reducing the production of gastric acid in the stomach.
Anton obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Philippines. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management Economics from the Ateneo de Manila University. He is a member of the ASEAN Intellectual Property Association and the Intellectual Property Association of the Philippines (IPAP).
