Atty. Lu has over 10 years of legal experience working with foreign and local businesses in the protection of their brands and inventions.
His vast experience in intellectual property rights enforcement includes being a private prosecutor in a criminal case for unfair competition where he successfully secured a conviction before a commercial court. He has also counseled clients in copyright infringement cases involving various industries from visual arts to design and engineering.
Atty. Lu has represented clients before the Bureau of Legal Affairs of the IPOPHL in high profile patent and trademark litigation. He was instrumental in the invalidation of several patents on behalf of pharmaceutical companies.
His work on non-contentious matters includes advising an amusement park in the acquisition of IP rights, managing the Philippine trademark portfolio of a Global brand owner, and assisting a local manufacturer in its filings across different jurisdictions.
He is a member of the standing committee on commercialisation of IP of the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriete Intellectuelle (AIPPI). He is also a member of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), the ASEAN Intellectual Property Association (AIPA), and the Intellectual Property Association of the Philippines (IPAP).
