Villaraza & Angangco held its much awaited annual Christmas celebration at the Rainmakers Lounge, which was attended by the Firm’s Partners, Associates and Non-Legal Staff.
This year’s celebration was made memorable and exceptional with the presence of our distinguished guest of honor, Former Senior Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Antonio T. Carpio, one of the Founding Partners of the Firm in 1980.
The Firm’s Co-Managing Partner, Augusto A. San Pedro, Jr., announced the Best Junior Associates and Best Senior Associates, as well as the promotion of Ira Mari J. Sembrano, as a new Senior Associate. The Firm also welcomed its newest Partners, namely: Mark Leo P. Bejemino, Danielle Francesca T.C. San Pedro, both from the Firm’s Intellectual Property Department, effective 1 January 2023; Mark Benjamin C. Yam and Mandy Therese M. Anderson, both from the Firm’s Corporate & Commercial Law Department, effective 1 July 2023.
This year’s celebration also marked a new era for the Firm as Managing Partner, Alejandro Alfonso E. Navarro, announced that the new leadership of the Firm will be headed by Sylvette Y. Tankiang, as Managing Partner, beginning 1 January 2023.
Sylvette Y. Tankiang, the first female Managing Partner in the Firm’s history, delivered her inspiring acceptance speech of her new role in the Firm outlining her plans and goals to bring the Firm to new and greater heights.
The Firm likewise thanked the outgoing Managing Partner, Alejandro Alfonso E. Navarro, and Co-Managing Partner, Augusto A. San Pedro, Jr., for their six (6) years of remarkable leadership of the Firm, especially during the unprecedented and unforeseen onslaught of the COVID Pandemic.
