On 4 October 2023, Villaraza and Angangco Law (“V&A Law”) Partner Rashel Ann Pomoy and Associate Caleb L. Lauredo served as speakers for Mondaq’s webinar entitled “Introduction to Philippine Labour and Employment Laws.”

During the webinar, Pomoy provided an overview of labor and employment laws in the Philippines, which play an important role in protecting the rights and interests of workers. The discussion also served to impart basic knowledge of labor laws for any employer or companies who are intending to have presence in the Philippines moving forward. Lauredo, meanwhile, covered legal updates in labor and employment law, including the revised implementing rules of the Philippine Telecommuting Act and the latest case law on independent contractors.
