Atty. Noel Kris E. Illescas is a Partner at Villaraza & Angangco and a member of the Firmโs Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department and Arbitration Practice Group. With nearly a decade of experience, his practice covers a broad range of disputes including commercial, civil, criminal, tax, and intra-corporate litigation, as well as corporate rehabilitation, insolvency, insurance disputes, and construction arbitration.
He has played a key role in several landmark matters handled by the Firm. These include the successful defense of minority shareholders and directors of a publicly listed hospital in an intra-corporate dispute for control of the company; securing a favorable judgment exceeding half a billion pesos in a commercial case for one of the Philippinesโ largest banks; obtaining a multi-million arbitral award before the Construction Industry Arbitration Commission; and defending a local corporation in a just compensation suit filed by the Government.
Atty. Illescas also previously served in government, gaining valuable insight into regulatory processes and institutional compliance frameworks.
He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2016.
